In 2008, David’s work as a clown was featured in the documentary, The Memory Box, directed by Wayne Shoenfeld. This documentary chronicles the journey of children born with facial disfigurements in Ethiopia as well as the wonderful work Dawish the clown (David’s alter ego) does to make those children smile again while they go through their sometimes terrifying and painful surgery. Having received an honourable mention as well as having been officially selected in many venues, The Memory Box beautifully shows how these “doctors fix the body, and the clowns fix the heart.”
